Follow these steps

Check the laptop model manual for RAM type, maximum capacity and slot access.

Shut down, unplug the charger and hold the power button for 15 seconds.

Open the RAM cover or bottom panel using the correct screwdriver; keep screws organised.

Touch an unpainted metal surface to reduce static electricity.

Release the side clips, remove old RAM at an angle, then insert new RAM firmly at the same angle.

Start the laptop and confirm the new memory amount in Task Manager > Performance > Memory.
